Shopping & dining
The Local Talent Marketplace brings a spread of locally made food, crafts, and beauty products to Downtown Pataskala every weekend. More traditional shopping can be done in nearby Reynoldsburg, or you can enjoy the specialty shops of the historic downtown district. White Feather Farms of Ohio, Inc is a quaint grocer while Ella’s Flowers & Gifts is a great place to stop for a new floral arrangement.
Pataskala serves a spread of fine eateries, including Whits Frozen Custard, Ziggy’s, Donatos Pizzeria, and the casual menu of Rusty’s Wharf.
Parks & rec
The City of Pataskala wants to keep its people outdoors and active with seven community parks. Foundation Park is the latest of them, with a one-mile trail through the woodlands, a baseball diamond, basketball court, soccer fields, playgrounds, and a fishing pond. Municipal Park, Freedom Park, Liberty Park, Citizens Park, and Volunteer Park round out a great selection of manicured outdoor spaces while the municipal pool cools things down on hot Ohio summer days.
Local schools
The communities in Pataskala are served by the Licking Heights School District and Southwest Licking School District. Both districts have moderate student-to-teacher ratios of 21:1 and 20:1, respectively. Both districts have a graduation rate in the 90th percentile and students can take advantage of available resources to plan for possible futures at The Ohio State University and Ohio University.
Career opportunities
The most common industries in Pataskala are health care and social services, retail, and manufacturing. Positions range from administrative to front-end professionals. Positions in waste management and technical services are also available. With Columbus not far from town, residents can commute into the city for a number of career opportunities in banking under names like JP Morgan Chase, aviation, logistics, steel, and insurance.
